A targeting vector was designed to place a loxP flanked neomycin resistance gene upstream of the first untranslated exon followed by a loxP site downstream of the first translated exon. The neo cassette was removed by germ-line cre-mediated resombination leaving loxP sites flanking the first two untranslated exons and the first translated exon. (J:163376)
