A 1.8 kb rat osteocalcin promoter fragment was used to direct expression of a human TGF-beta2 cDNA in osteoblasts. The TGF-beta2 cDNA was modified by two point mutations which changed the cysteines normally found at codons 226 and 228 to serines. Eight founders were produced but only founder lines D4 and D5 where characterized. Homozygotes could not be derived from the D4 founder. (J:105791)
