A genomic fragment extending from nucleotide -5870 to 768 including the promoter region and exon 1 was replaced with a pgk-neo cassette via homologous recombination. Immunohistochemical analysis confirmed the absence of protein expression in taste tissue from homozygous mice. (J:161517)
