A targeting vector containing an FRT site flanked NEO cassette was utilized in the construction of this mutant. This selection cassette was inserted downstream of exon 3 of the targeted gene, and loxP sites were placed flanking exon 3. Flp mediated recombination removed the neo cassette leaving exon 3 floxed.
