The cDNA encoding cre recombinase and a nuclear localization signal (NLS) was cloned downstream of the human 3.7 kb SFTPC promoter sequence to generate the transgene construct. Transgenic founders were bred to Z/EG reporter mice to verify cre activity. One founder line was analyzed further and was designated # (no line number was specified in the reference). (J:158566)
