A cDNA encoding for a version of the gene with three C-terminal FLAG tags and an FRT-NEO-FRT selection cassette was inserted, replacing the entire coding sequence. The selection cassette was then removed by flp mediated recombination. Expression of the tagged protein in the cerebellum but not the cortex was confirmed by chromatin immunoprecipitation analysis.
