A glutamic acid at residue 330 was mutated to a glutamine by a point mutation in exon 11. The targeting vector contained a loxP-flanked neomycin cassette, that was removed by cre-mediated recombination. An activity assay confirmed the absence of ADAM8 peptidase activity in cells from homozygous mice. (J:155243)
