The construct consists of 4.5 kb of the mouse Hmgcr promoter/enhancer sequences driving a lacZ reporter sequence with a nuclear localization signal. The reporter is disrupted by an FRT-flanked neo cassette. Flp recombinase-mediated recombination results in restoration of the lacZ transcript. (J:78660)
