A conditional gene trap vector flanked by loxP, lox511 and FRT sites inserted between exons 20 and 21. The gene trap construct is designed such that in the absence of recombinase the gene trap resided in the mutagenic orientation (Ubr5mt); (2) after flp-mediated recombination, in the non-mutagenic orientation (Ubr5WT*); and (3) after cre-mediated recombination, in the permanent mutagenic orientation (Ubr5mt*).
