The gene trap cassette is flanked with FRT, F3, loxP and lox511 sites. The sites are oriented to allow for inversion of the gene trap cassette. The gene trap construct inserted into intron 1. Immunoblot analysis confirmed the absence of protein expression in brains from homozygous embryos at E13-E14.5, but a trace amount of mRNA was detected by RT-PCR. (J:200901)
