An FRT-neo-FRT cassette followed by a loxP site was inserted after the coding region of Id1. Another loxP was inserted before the Id1 gene such that the entire locus was floxed. This allele was generated by homologous recombination in Bruce4 ES cells. Southern blot positive ESC clones were injected into non-isogenic FVB blastocyts. Positive male chimeras were bred to B6J females. Black pups were screened by PCR genotyping and bred to B6 ACTB::FLPe mouse (Artemis Pharmaceuticals) to excise the neo cassette in vivo. (J:154023)
