The portion of the gene encoding the transmembrane and intra-cellular regions were replaced with the signal peptide of cytokine G-CSF. A floxed neo cassette used for selection purposes was removed by germ line, cre mediated recombination. This allele is incapable of producting the membrane bound version of the peptide but produces the soluble form. (J:153501)
