The Cre recombinase and green fluorescent protein coding sequences are expressed under control of a 409 bp upstream genomic DNA fragment from the mouse Pax4 locus whose expression has been shown specifically to recapitulate the spatiotemporal expression pattern and intensity of the endogenous Pax4 gene in the developing pancreas.
