A loxP site was inserted into exon 1 upstream of the initiation codon and a cassette containing a 5' loxP site, the Hoxc9 coding region, intron 2 sequence with flanking splice acceptor and donor sites, an IRES, a eGFP gene, an additional copy of the 3'UTR, and a neo resistance gene was inserted downstream of the 3'UTR.
