A loxP-flanked neomycin cassette was placed in intron 6 and a third loxP site was placed in intron 3. Cre mediated recombination removed exons 4 through 6. This deletion results in a out of frame mutation. The absence of protein expression was confirmed by western blot on spleen, thymus, kidney, liver, and brain extracts. (J:153216)
