Using a series of recombineering reactions, two loxP sites flanking exon 1 were introduced. An FRT-Neo-FRT selection cassette was immediately preceding the second loxP site. Exon 1 and the Neo cassette were deleted upon Cre-mediated recombination. No protein was detected in the lung, kidney, heart, spleen, brain, liver, thymus, or testis of homozygous mice by Western blot. (J:160188)
