An Frt-flanked neo cassette and lox-P flanked exon 1 were inserted upstream of exon 2. Flp mediated recombination removed the neo-cassette. Cre-mediated recombination will remove exon 1, along with 1.5kb of its upstream sequence containing an ultraconserved noncoding region. (J:151995, J:207383)
