Bacterial lacZ was inserted into the first coding exon (exon5) of Mef2c in BAC clone GS133 in such a way that the start codon was deleted but the exon boundaries were preserved. This transgenic reporter essentially recapitulates endogenous Mef2c expression in vivo. (J:152141)
