The lone coding exon was replaced with a LacZ cassette and a floxed neomycin resistance gene. Founder mice were crossed with cre transgenic mice to remove the neomycin selection cassette from the germline. Endogenous gene inactivation and reporter gene expression were confirmed by RT-PCR analysis of brain extracts. (J:152015)
