A CreERT2 cDNA was with a rabbit globin poly-adenylation sequence. The 2.5-kb fragment of the CreERT2-polyA was inserted downstream of the transcription initiation site of a 5.7 kb fragment of the rat nestin promoter and 5.4 kb of the fused rat nestin introns I/III. The linearized fragment was injected into the pronuclei of fertilized oocytes. 11 transgenic founders were identified with eight of the 11 lines that were established showed similar inducible recombination in the nervous system.
