A transgenic construct containing the EGFP gene under the control of a 2.5 kb 5' fragment of the mouse Gfap, glial fibrillary acidic protein, promoter was injected into fertilized ICR(CD-1) mouse eggs. Founder line 3747 was established and characterized. Line 3739 was also established but not described in the original reference. Transgene expression is observed during retinal development, specifically in Muller cells. (J:151687)
