An EGFP cassette was inserted in-frame at the translational start site in exon 1. A floxed neomycin cassette was also inserted downstream of exon 2. The fusion protein was detected in single-positive thymocytes. Because homozygote mice are viable and have normal lymphocyte numbers, the fusion protein was assumed to retain the function of the endogenous protein. (J:151604)
