The mouse promoter was used to drive melanocyte-specific expression of the human cDNA containing the amino acid substitution of glutamic acid for valine at position 600 (V600E). This cDNA was cloned from a melanoma line. Four founders were generated and two lines examined (470 and 476). Line 470 exhibits a 3-fold high transcript expression compared to line 476. (J:151455)
