A gene trap vector containing a splice-acceptor sequence upstream of the reporter gene, beta-geo (a fusion gene of beta-galactosidase and neomycin phosphotransferase II) inserted into intron 1. Immunoblot analysis showed a complete loss of the encoded protein in the lysates from whole embryos and immortalized MEFs. (J:226309)
