The gene trap vector, pGTxf, which contains a splice acceptor-beta geo cassette-polyadenylation sequence, was inserted between exon 7 and exon 8. The insertion results in the disruption of the gene transcription and expression. Western blot analysis confirmed absence of protein expression in liver, fat, and skeletal muscle tissue homogenates from homozygous mutant mice. (J:211794)
