Trapped gene association determined by genome coordinate overlap and strand. A gene trap vector (pGT1Lxf) that contains a splice-acceptor sequence upstream of the reporter gene, beta-geo inserted inside the intron between exon 2 and exon 3. Sequence analysis showed that the gene trap inserted about 10-kb downstream of exon 2, leading to a new splicing product composed of exon 1, exon 2, and beta-galactosidase gene. RT-PCR and sequences confirmed the presence of a fusion mRNA transcript. (J:226959)
