A gene trap vector inserted into intron 1. A 50% reduction in both encoded mRNA transcript, as well as encoded protein abundance was shown in brain tissue of homozygous mice, resulting in a 25% reduction in protein activity in the hippocampus compared to controls. (J:326310)
