The gene tarp cassette inserted in intron 2. Protein expression is reduced in homozygous embryonic fibroblasts to at most 10% that in wild-type cells. In adult organs from homozygous mice, except for brain, testis and lung, expression is reduced by at least 85 percent. Expression of the fusion reporter protein is seen in osteoblastic compartments.
