A 4-kb full length cDNA encoding the c-maf (Maf) gene was cloned into a vector containing the Cd4 promoter-enhancer and first intron without the silencer element. This construct was injected into C57BL/6 blastocysts. 6 founders were obtained and three low copy number transgenics transmitted the transgene to progeny. Lines 6666 (with moderately high levels of Maf tg mRNA in thymus and low levels in spleen) and 6272 (with very low levels of Maf transgenic mRNA in thymus and spleen) were characterized further (J:95878)
