The targeting vector was designed to replace exons 5-8, which encodes the N-terminal portion of the predicted catalytic domain, with a floxed neomycin cassette and to insert a stop codon in the remainder of exon 5. Founder mice were crossed with cre transgenic mice to remove the neomycin cassette. No protein product was detected in the cilia layer of homozygote olfactory epithelium as determined by immunohistochemistry. (J:150514)
