The coding region of Myocd exon 1 was replaced via homologous recombination with a construct containing a cre recombinase sequence and a Frt-flanked neo cassette, such that the endogenous Myocd promoter drove expression of cre. The neo cassette was subsequently removed by breeding the mice with Flpe trangenic animals. (J:149882)
