The transgenic construct encodes a truncated form of SMN2 (exons 1-6) with the added motif VDQNQKE under control of a 4.1 kb SMN2 promoter. Ten founder lines were obtained and lines 1946, 1947, and 1951 (which received more characterization) were established. (J:148541)
