The bovine promoter was used to drive epidermis-specific expression of a mutated cDNA with nucleotide substitutions leading to amino acid substitutions of glycine for serine at positions 32 and alanine for serine at position 36. These mutations create a super-repressor version that is resistant to phosphorylation and degradation. Seven founders were created and line 3 was selected as the representative line. (J:148457)
