The TgNL2 transgene was designed with a modified regulatory region of the "murine thy1.2 gene" (extending from the promoter to the intron following exon 4, excluding exon 3 and its flanking introns) upstream of a hemagglutinin-tagged rat neuroligin 2 (Nlgn2 or NL2) cDNA. Transgenic founders were bred with C57BL/6 and mice from founder line 6 (TgNL2.6) were found to have an approximately 1.6-fold increase in NL2 expression and moderate phenotype severity, (J:137376)
