A lacZ cassette and neo cassette in inverse orientation were inserted into exon 2 via homologous recombination. Northern blot and quantitative RT-PCR confirmed the absence of RNA expression. Immunoblot analysis confirmed the absence of protein expression in livers from homozygous mice. (J:148171)
