The 5 Kb intergenic region between Hoxd13 and Hoxd12 was replaced with the corresponding 3 Kb sequence from zebrafish. A 5' floxed neo cassette was removed in vitro. Whole mount in situ hybridization confirmed reduced expression of Hoxd12 but normal expression of Hoxd11 and Hoxd13. (J:47366)
