A genomic fragment including 3 bp of 5' untranslated sequence, all of exon 1, and 47 bp of intron 1 was replaced with an improved Cre gene followed by two tandem SV40 polyA sequences and an frt flanked neo cassette. Flp mediated recombination then removed the neo cassette. (J:152867)
