A floxed neomycin selection cassette was inserted in exon 1b replacing the single ATG codon. The neomycin selection cassette was subsequently excised by crossing mice to either B6.FVB-Tg(ACTB-cre)2Mrt or to 129S-Tg(Prm-cre)58Og. Expression of isoform E2f3b is disrupted but isoform E2f3a continues to be expressed. Specific deletion of the "b" isoform was confirmed immunologically. Expression levels of the "a" isoform were not altered. (J:147270)
