A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 4 and an frt flanked neo cassette and a second loxP site were inserted downstream of exon 4 via homologous recombination. Exon 4 was then removed via Cre mediated recombination. Immunoblot analysis confirmed the absence of protein expression in the skin of homozygous mice. (J:147182)
