A loxP site was inserted into the XbaI site upstream of exon 15, and a loxP site and a FRT-flanked neomycin resistance cassette were inserted downstream of exon 15 at another XbaI site. The neomycin cassette was removed by crossing with FLPe recombinase transgenic mice. The floxed exon encodes the kinase subdomains VII and VIII of the protein product. (J:145923)
