An frt and loxP flanked neo cassette was inserted into intron 1 and a third loxP site was inserted into intron 2 via homologous recombination. Cre mediated recombination removed the neo cassette and exon 2. Deletion of exon 2 removes the ATg start site. Absence of protein expression was confirmed in blastocysts. (J:145744)
