A gene trap vector containing the En2 splice acceptor upstream of the beta-geo (lacZ-neomycin) gene and a polyadenylation signal was inserted into the intron between exons 3 and 4 of the gene. Absence of protein expression was confirmed in homozyous mice total brain homogenate by Western blot. (J:144939)
