A 33 bp region of exon 7, encoding the 11 amino acids of the beta-hairpin loop, was replaced with sequence encoding 2 glycine residues and a floxed neo cassette was inserted into intron 4 via homologous recombination. The neo cassette was then removed via Cre mediated recombination leaving a single loxP site in intron 4. (J:145243)
