A total of 1.7 kb of genomic sequence, including start codon, signal peptide, 1.3 kb upstream of exon 1, and 350 bp of the first intron were replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. Gene inactivation was confirmed by a lack of signal in RT-PCR of liver extracts from mice injected with LPS. (J:143497)
