A targeting vector was designed to flox exons 15-21, which encodes 40% of domain V that consists of laminin EGF-like repeats. Unlike Lama5tm2Jhm, the frt-flanked neo cassette inserted downstream of exon 21 was retained and leads to an alternate transcript involving the splicing of exon 20 to exon 22. (J:128225)
