The membrane-proximal region encoding a TNRSFSKIK motif was removed by homologous recombination leaving the rest of the coding sequence in-frame. A floxed neomycin cassette was included for targeting purposes downstream from the transmembrane encoding region. Mice homozygous for this mutation do not express protein on the cell surface of lymphocytes. (J:142184)
