LoxP sites were inserted in introns 1 and 2 an an frt flanked neomycin resistance cassette was inserted downstream of the loxP site in intron 2. Mice were then crossed to Gt(ROSA)26Sor to produce mice with germline deletion of the frt flanked neomycin resistance cassette. These floxed mice (Cnn2tm1.1Jin) were then crossed with Tg(Zp3-cre)93Knw mice. Cre expression results in the germline excision of exon 2. These mice produce no protein product. (J:141867)
