A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 2 and a floxed hygro cassette was inserted downstream of exon 3. Germ line, cre mediated recombination was used to remove exon 2, exon 3 and the selection cassette. The absence of protein expression was confirmed by immunohistochemistry on P14 cochlear sensory epithelia. (J:141421)
