The gene trap vector pU17, which contains a beta-geo cassette flanked by loxP and lox71 sites, was inserted 215 bp upstream of exon 1. A 50% reduction in transcript expression was confirmed by real-time RT-PCR on extracts heterozygous for this allele. (J:141491)
