A loxP site and an FRT flanked neomycin resistance gene were placed in intron 2. A second loxP site was inserted just 3' of exon 3. Cre excision of exon 3 will result in a frame shift after codon 213, 27 additional codons and then a stop codon in exon 4. Chimeric animals were bred with a Flpe deleter mouse with a C57BL/6 background to remove the neomycin reporter. (J:141321)
